Hi again everyone :)

My 9 week old kitten Alba was at the vet this morning having the first assessment/vaccines. We got a thumbs up health wise!

Found out she is actually a he! Luckily we chose a non gender specific name but now I'll have to change all the wee nicknames I've been using teehee!

Anyway, since we came home, he's been really lethargic and drowsy, and very very clingy. Just wants to be on a ball in my lap at all points. Is this normal behaviour after the vaccines?

Thanks :)

Yes - this is very, very normal BUT please do keep watch closely. If Alba (now a boy ;)), stops drinking/eating and otherwise not acting normal the next couple of days, call the vet asap to update them and see what they recommend. The vaccines do make kittens quite withdrawn though and sometimes they can even become a little sick after vaccinations. It is normal, especially if adopted from a shelter environment and already stressed. Try to keep him hydrated by offering him some tempting canned kitten food and make sure he is drinking water.

Also - did they deworm your kitten? Very important. He could also develop a bit of diarrhea from the vaccines and all of the stress and/or if he has parasites. Make sure your kitten is dewormed twice - two weeks apart. It is tough on the little kittens during and after the first/second set of vaccinations. Keep us posted and Welcome to the site and CONGRATS on your new kitten. :wavey:
