Hi guys!

My new kitten was used to having a half can of friskies in the morning and afternoon, and a measured amount of friskies grillers during the day to free graze on. The previous owners mentioned that he frequently vomited after eating the wet (and they presumed it was because he was eating too fast). After much investigation, I realized that it wasn't because he was eating too fast, but because he doesn't handle food very well that is of the gravy variety. He does wonderfully on the pate varieties. I tried Blue Buffalo, Wellness, and a slew of other high quality foods, but they were too rich for the little guy. He did very well on friskies, fancy feast, and Nutro. Would it be okay if i fed these 3 brands to him on a rotation? Also, what better dry food should I try to switch him to (because I work during the day, I want to leave him a little dry to eat from the auto feeder for lunch)? Thanks a bunch!

Hi There!!

Yup. Those foods are fine to keep in a rotation. The best foods are the ones that your cat likes and you can afford. My 3 like all of the ones you mentioned too. As for dry, I'd look for one that has meat as it's #1 ingredient and is as low in carbs and high in protein as possible. A lot of people go with a cheaper wet food and a more expensive dry such as Orijen, Acana or Nature's Variety. I normally don't feed dry but if I have to be away for a day or so, I will fill the automatic feeders with Nature's Variety Limited Ingredient Diet Turkey. I use this as treats in place of Temptations as well. They like it very much

Yes, those three brands of wet are fine .  It is good that he enjoys the wet foods .  As  @Kat0121  mentioned  a kibble that is high meat and lower  carbs would be a good choice , grain free if possible ..   Petsmart has a few good choices .

Authority  , Simply Nourish , Natures Variety ..
