My parents have a weekend cabin a couple hours away up a mountain. Over 8000 ft change in 2 hours. They want to bring the cat with them so he isn't alone over the weekends they are gone. They drove him up twice already and he was a bit freaked out but overall fine.
They are concerned with how often it is safe for that elevation change. Once a month- up and down within 2 days? They usually head up Friday night and back down Sunday afternoon. They did bring wet food for extra hydration but other than being cautious, he didn't seem to be affected.

But cats can't pop their ears like we can...so is the elevation change ok?

I've never heard of something like that being an issue, but I suppose that might be a question you might want to ask your Vet.  Can you simply CALL them with the question rather than pay for an office visit?

Good idea!  The vet should know.  Also,it depends on the cat; some want to go every where & others are happier at home.  So even if the change is not a problem the kitty might be happier at home.
