I have started my own TNR program in my county in honor of a sweet newborn kitten I lost, by the name of Gravity. I spoke about him and asked for advice on this site while he was here with us before he passed. The program is called Gravity's Trap-Neuter-Return Program and I am wanting any tips or advice from those who TNR.

Thank you!

I also wanted to share that our program is signed up on iGive...if you simply sign up and install the button, we instantly get $5 for free. That simple! It costs $45 per cat.

If you would like to get us the free $5 you can go here: http://www.igive.com/welcome/lp15/wr34.cfm?c=71564&m=1037614&jltest=1  - please keep in mind I am in no way looking for any donations from anyone. This is just a free $5 that can be given to our program for 30 seconds of your time. :)

We are on track to get two feral cats fixed in my sweet Gravity's name and I couldn't be more excited, but nervous as this is my first time. I can't wait to make this difference and am wanting any advice and tips!

I am starting in my colony first and working my way to others.

Here is an article on TNR tips.  Also be sure to visit Alley Cat Allies as they have great tips and videos too.  You can watch some youtube videos as well to help.

Thank you for helping the feral cat population.

That is a fine thing you started in memory of little Gravity. I didn't see your post about him but I can tell that he was very special to you.

Thank you for making a difference and not ignoring the glaring problems that ferals face.  Well done.  What kind of tips are you looking for?  Trapping is tricky in the beginning and becomes easier with each cat.  Do not give up and do reach out to any local organizations that can help you.  Your nearest humane society and pet rescues can become valuable allies and most are willing to help someone starting out.  Read everything you can get your eyes on about cat behavior and TNR.  Let all of your neighbors know what you are doing.  Most are thrilled to know they have an interested cat person living among them.
