Hello so I found a stray cat and she seemed to just weaned her other litters of kittens and still has big nipples but they're not giving anymore milk out, she got pregnant obviously soon after because she's pregnant again and I can feel the kittens and they feel like little pops hitting the hand, she's very affectionate and lovable but sometimes gets touchy when you touch her lower stomach area near her vagina and play nips at you and she always claws when she's laying down as in Shes uncomfortable. Anybody know exactly how long she is based on these acts?? She's not that far along I don't think because she's not that very big.. She eats a lot too.

Did you bring her inside or is is still outside?  How long have you known her?

Pregnant cats eat a lot.  they need the nutrition so the kittens grow.  If you are feeding her kitten food is best or a combination.  Kitten food has extra vitamins and fat that she will pass to the kittens in her womb.

I've known her for a few days max. And I've brought her inside. And I'm feeding her regular cat food but will be switching her to kitten food soon.

Wet food as in like canned cat food? And they went on I guess, I believe they're at the house she came from since they do so much breeding it's pathetic. But they're like 8 weeks and off of her for sure.

You can feed her both.

Things to watch for as she gets nearer to giving birth are the loss of her mucus plug, water breaking, restlessness, searching for a nest, being very needy.

Can you see the kittens moving?  the kittens will be born 2-3 weeks (est.) afterwards.  Her milk will come in approx 24-48 hours before birth, however some cats milk comes in afterwards.

I think she has a ways to go.  You will be able to bond with her before she gives birth, which is good, in case they need supplementing.

keep us updated and ask questions whenever you need to.

You can feel the kittens, can you also see them move?  The cat will give birth 2-3 weeks after you start seeing the kittens move.

Other signs closer to giving birth is needyness, restlessness, losing the mucus plug, her water breaking/leaking.

all pregnant cat eat a lot.  Let her have as much as she wants to eat.  Wet and dry kitten food is best.  It has extra nutrients and fat that the kittens need to grow.  Since the mother was a stray she also needs these extra nutrients.

things you should have on hand before the birth:

Kitten Milk Replacer (KMR) We have been recommending Pet Ag in the powder form.  If you can't find this brand another will do, but avoid Hartz and Seargents brands. KMR can be found at Walmart and pet stores or on-line if you have time.  You can also feed a small dish of the KMR to the mom cat every day.

Syringe, small 1-2-ml/cc.  You do not need the needles.  You can get this at a pharmacy.  This is in case you need to supplement a kittens feeding.  Sometimes a runt needs a little extra.

A scale that weighs in grams or 1/10 of an ounce.  It will need to be big enough to weigh the kittens.

A heating source is nice. Like a heating pad or a water bottle.  You can even fill a sock with raw rice, microwave it and it will hold the heat for about 4 hours.

There are many articles at the top of this forum that you can/should read.  Don't wait until the last minute.

And feel free to ask any questions.  Someone usually has an answer.

Kitten chow and quality wet food such as Fancy Feast, in which the first ingredient is protein.

Any high quality protein-first brand that your cat likes is good for a pregnant cat. We recommend kitten chow for the vitamins and minerals it provides to mom and the developing babies. Pet stores have a wide variety of wet foods to choose from. You might want to try two or three brands to see what she likes.

There is really no way to tell from a photo.  Can you see the kittens moving yet?

Please keep using this thread.  Seeing the other posts and getting the whole story about the cat will help people give you better advice.  Every time you post something new it will put your post at the top of the 'pile'

Have you seen kitten movement in her belly? Delivery is usually 2-3 weeks after you begin seeing movement. It's hard to judge from the picture. My best advice is just to be patient - but that's easier said than done for most of us! :)
