does anyone know what kind of worms feral cats typicaly have?

some of the the feral cats look thinner than others. of course the heat wave we are having does  not help. do out door cats eat less in hot weather?do I need to buy a small bag of quality cat food to add to the cat chow ? never thought about if the feral cats have worm or not

Cats can have round worms, hook worms and tape worms.  It is not uncommon for them to have worms and it can affect their appetite and their weight.  They often are quite hungry and have trouble keeping weight on.  It would not hurt to deworm them.

My ferals are always thinner int he summer.  They lose their winter fat that is needed to keep them warm.  They also shed a lot of their extra fur.  They do not need as much to eat either since they do not need the extra calories to keep warm.  Many of the ferals will hunt as well to supplement their diet.

thank you for your prompt reply. I am still learning new  stuff about careing for these feral cats that I had not thought about before now. have been careing for these cats for ten years now and still learn something new to me.
