I noticed my cat who is 8 months old was losing weight and was having bad diarrhea and could not hold it into make it to the litter box  . I brought her to the vet and she was very concerned . They took her blood and some urine . All the tests came back ok . It showed all clear .  No parasites. But she is not ok . She has gone to the vet 3 times in a month and they can not figure out what is wrong ....... I am very worried and scared for my cat . She has started to  make a grinding noise when even eating wet food also when she is making the grinding noise she tilts her head to the side . Please if anyone has any ideas that can help my baby please let me know. She is failing to thrive .

I'm sorry your cat isn't doing well. Did the vet check her mouth for dental problems?

Do yourself and the vet a favor, and if you can, videotape your cat eating and making these grinding sounds, and show it to your vet. I'm not sure what is going on, but I'm wondering if your cat has a bad tooth, or an abscess, or even problems with her palate, tongue, or sinuses. It might just be a tooth coming in, though. I'm not a vet, but I think you should Listen to your instincts here. Your cat should not be making noise when eating. How is the diarrhea?

The vet did open her mouth and looked around . She said it looked good in there. She did hear her make that noise when she gave my cat some treats and did not think it was such a big deal but i think it is . I will take a video though. That is a great idea thank you .Her diarrhea is still bad . She is having it all around the house . I just feel so helpless . I find little puddles of it .

If she is all clear for parasites, then it might be her food.  First I would try putting her on a chicken and rice diet for a few days and see if that helps her.  This will give her digestive tract a break, and if it helps, then that will give us a clue that is probably IS related to her food.

Here is a thread that talks about how to fix the chicken and rice.  It discusses adding some other things to it, which is good, if you can.  If you don't have access to any of that, it's ok, or if you add just some of it, that's ok too.  The main thing is to give her digestive tract a break:  http://www.thecatsite.com/t/253036/help-explosive-poop#post_3291827

Many cats will grind their teeth when nauseated.  Has your kitty been put on any medication?  Metro is an antibiotic with anti-inflammatory properties which is often used.  What kind of tests have been done for parasites.  There is one called a fecal PCR test that is much more sensitive.  It has to be sent out and takes about a week to get results back.

Just what I was thinking.  It's probably NOT food related, unless she has an intolerance to chicken, which IS possible.  I don't honestly think she would eat if she were nauseated though.  In my experience, if a cat is nauseated, they will walk up to the food, but then walk away because the smell makes the sick to their stomachs.  I always thought that grinding was due to dehydration, which is most definitely a side effect of diarrhea.  My cat is slightly dehydrated most of the time due to kidney disease,(even though she get sub-q fluids) and she does that grinding sound often.  I always think her teeth are breaking, but they are actually in good shape.

I definitely think that PCR panel is worth thinking about.  That was going to be my next suggestion of the chicken and rice didn't work.

I would have her fast for a bit to get the GI tract to calm down, since she keeps responding badly to foods and the vet can't determine what is causing it

She does that grinding noise with all foods not just the chicken . The vet did send out her blood for the parasites and even checked for the hard to find ones . She did get put on a antibiotic and the name of it is Veraflox she was on it for a week she also gave me a probiotic to put on her food its called Florazil Probiotic spray
