I have a 20lb 6yr old cat who is producing too much acid and spitting up white foam and is not eating, though is drinking small amounts. This has been ongoing for about a week and I have been bottle feeding him and also giving him 1 capsule(370mg) of slippery elm for the past 3 days. Though spitting up less, he still isn't eating on his own. Is it safe to give him prevacid and what dosage and for how  long?

I have never heard of giving Prevacid to a cat.  Pepcid A/C is ok to give.  1/4 of a tablet twice a day is what we used to give our old guy for excess stomach acid.  But it is extremely bitter, so it's hard to give unless you're a great piller.  Even if you're syringe feeding and mix it into his food, it will probably make the food taste bitter.

If your cat is overweight (vs just being a very large breed), and not eating, he is at high risk for getting Hepatic Lipidosis.

If you have not already taken him to see a Vet to find out why he is not eating, I really think you need to, because something like this that's been going on for a week sounds pretty serious and needs attention.
