odors of cat litter box. in home. carpet verses tile floor.

Hello. I have 2 cats and I used to live in an apartment that had carpet thru the whole place. I just moved to a condo and it has tile floor thru the whole condo. I have been smelling the cat box much stronger than when I lived in the apartment. I have not changed my cleaning routine at all. I scoop 2 times a day like always. The cats are not peeing outside the box. Will I have to spend the rest of my life cleaning 24-7. Any help would be great.

Perhaps the litter itself has changed, even if it's the same brand. You could try other brands of the same type of litter to see whether the odor control is better, add a second box, or increase the frequency of scooping (I do it a minimum of 3 times a day, and usually 4-5 x).

Have you made any food changes? That could also affect the smell. Perhaps the box is simply in a less ventilated area. It's doubtful that the tiles would increase odor.

Thanks I usually use tidy cat scoopable but I think I will try another litter. I was just thinking. Cuz there isno carpet and it is very high humidity in here that that was the problem. I never had this problem before. I have always had 2 cats and one litter box. But i will try a few different things. Thank you.

I find the litterbox gets smellier in summer when we get the high humidity, so I think that definitely can affect the smell. We have to scoop it more often in the summer than the winter.
