A stray cat was ran over leaving behind very small kittens (two weeks old) I was bottle feeding them
With formula and they have been doing very well. Suddenly one of them
Has stopped eating. We could get her to eat a little last night with a dropper but we are having no luck today. It has no energy. I am scared. Please help. She is probably about 5 weeks old

I don't know much about  hand raising kittens but since she is 5 weeks old can you mix a bit of formula with canned kitten food and see if she will lick from a saucer ..

Put some honey on its lips for quick energy. You can give it clear pedialyte with the syringe. If you have neither, you can give drops of sugar water.

A five-week-old kitten is old enough to eat mushy wet food, but yours may be too weak. Continue with pedialyte (clear) and formula. Keep the kitten warm and offer comfort.

It might not make it. When a kitten becomes lethargic and stops eating at this age, it often has a congenital defect or has aspirated formula and developed pneumonia.

Let us know how it goes.

The honey perked her up a little and then took a little more formula. But she is still not right. We are waiting for the vet to call up back

Glad to hear the honey helped. Do you have any pedialyte? Dehydration happens quickly in kittens.

The vet came in to look at the kitten. Wanted to keep it overnight. Hoping he pulls through

I hope so too!

What does the vet think the problem is and what is he planning to do for treatment tonight?

It had worms, which ended up dehydrating him. He is putting him on fluids and trying to warm him up. He is not sure of their is anything else wrong or not but said with it not being nursed from such a young age it's more susceptible to things even with the replacement formula.

I am so sorry to hear this. Did the vet say what the problem was? There can be lots of reasons why small kittens become ill and die.

How is the other kitten doing?
