Hey guys. I took my cat to the vet today because I found a small very deep hole on his lower neck area.last night I noticed he was missing fur in that spot but there was no hole. I thought hot spot, but the hole really scared me. The vet said he believes it's a puncture wound but he's an indoor cat so I'm not sure how he could've gotten this? My main concern is that it's getting bigger and deeper... He's acting fine but I'm afraid it may be a spider bite and the vet could be wrong... Any opinions would be greatly appreciated

Oh, that looks weird. I don't see a hole, it looks like a red blob. Is your cat on tick and flea medicine? Are there other animals in the house?

What did you vet say about treating it?

Not an expert on cat health, I'm sure you'll get a more detailed and helpful answer soon. At least your cat seems comfortable otherwise, for now.

He's on confortus. I have three other dogs but they all get along well. They don't interact much with the cat. He gave him an antibiotic and said it should heal on its own[emoji]128542[/emoji]

You should take your cat back to the vet. Wounds that are a puncture that are "growing" in depth and width can be necrotic. Meaning it might have a bacteria eating away at it and you need the right kind of medicine for that. That's the kind of thing you see when you search for "spider bite" on Google, those are bites that have become necrotic. Spiders aren't the only things that do it, it can really be any puncture wound, but spiders are more likely than others when it comes to humans.
