Very worried about scabies!

I don't have it (yet!) but my work place is infested with scabies!  Lots of my coworkers have been unable to come to work because of it, and this infestation has gone on for a while with out anyone realizing what it was.  I feel that it is only a matter of time before I get it.

I have a cat with a compromised immune system.  She got her vaccines when she was too young and almost died from worms, toxoplasmosis, you name it, including some kind of bug that the vet said wasn't fleas.

I am so afraid that she's going to get it!  Scabies can take up to two months to show symptoms!  How can I protect her from catching it?  I think that if she gets it, she won't make it!  Please help!

I actually think this is one you should talk to your Vet about.  Can you simply CALL them and ask what's the best thing you can do?  I'm honestly not even sure cats can contract scabies from humans, as it is a different sub-species of mites.
