My kitten got spayed 3 days ago and now her incision looks like this, she eats and uses the litter just fine. If it were up to her she would be running around playing but I don't let her. However when I leave the room she becomes more active mainly jumping on and off my bed. My concern is that her incision became infected.

Give your vet a call because most vets will carry out a follow up appointments after spaying without any additional charges etc  for medicines.

I got her from a shelter that also had a clinic for spaying and neutering. However they don't do follow ups, truth be told the picture makes it look worse than in person, the color is more pink than red. That being said if I see no improvement tomorrow morning I'll take her to my local veterinarian.

I would ring the shelter and ask . They probably don't do follow ups to check everything has healed correctly but will see a cat that is starting to get  a slight infection from the desexing.

To me, it looks dirty around the incision area but the incision seems fine.

OK thanks. I just noticed that her nose went from pink to white, her gums aren't pale/white but they are a very light pink. I think I will take her to the vet today just to play it safe.
