Serafina my little Princess.

We adopted Serafina from a no kill animal recuse shelter, she was abused by her last owners for her life until the shelter got her. She was skin and bones, hardly any fur, and preggers(2 out of 6 kittens made it.) Couple months later we found her at the shelter and brought her home. We gave her a great life and she was spoiled rotten, so she was my little Princess!
After a long battle and beating Fatty liver Disease, the vet found a lump, couple weeks later...

Monday july 6th.

Wake up one morning and she is choking and panting, picked her up worried and she was really hot. tried to cool her down thought she might be over heating. She couldn't stand, we hoped it was just a bad day because she started to improve a bit and move around during the day, then in the evening after having force fed her three times because she wasn't eating again. She pooped and there was a large amount of blood in it, vet was closed, so we waited till the next morning.

Tuesday july 7th

Morning she couldn't even stand or eat, spent a couple of hours with her then phoned the vet and made the appointment to have her brought in, checked and maybe put down. Vet examined her for free, said she was now suffering and in a lot of pain that she had a large mass in her intestines/bowels, and that the cancer was most likely spreading.

So as our last act of pure love for her, we put her down and ended my little girls pain and suffering, and started our own, it hurts greatly and there is a HUGE void in our lives.

We miss her so so much and the house now feels empty, you are never ready for something like this to happen to your fur baby.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your beautiful girl, @Scottg. How fortunate it was for you to cross paths that first moment at the shelter and give her the great life that she deserved.

I'm so sorry for your loss.  It is hard when the time has come.  And it comes way too quickly.

Thank you everyone, its been a few days now, I still miss her tons. But its getting a bit easier... I know once i'm done mourning, I plan to get another cat.

My heart goes out to you, I know what it means to lose such a beautiful princess. I know the emptiness it brings to our homes, and to our hearts as well, only time helps to soften the agony we feel at our loss. I pray you are blessed for giving this sweet girl such a wonderful home and for loving her so much to hurt so bad. She is at rest now, grateful to you for opening your hearts and your home to her when she needed you the most.  Take care.......... RIP beautiful princess, sweet Serafina!

We finished paying for her urn and everything today, She will be returning home to us Monday or Tuesday. Will post a picture of her final resting place in her forever home once its set up. We Miss you Serafina. <3

  Condolences on your sad loss. I, too, am grieving the loss of our beloved family dog, Scooby Do, who was the best friend that our cats and laying hens ever had. Your tribute to Serfafina was very, very beautiful.  She was very blessed to be your family's Princess! Heaven sent you to rescue to her and all her terrible memories were replaced with happy moments filled with love, scritches, yummy treats and toys

My heart break reading this. She is so beautiful and I love reading how you gave her a good life. I understand the void and I wish there was a way to feel better about that. But that void you feel shows how much you loved her. Tae special care of yourself during this hard time.

Thanks everyone, her ashes will be home with us on Tuesday. I have a digital picture frame loaded with pictures of her that i am putting beside her urn. Which i might put on top of her favorite blanket. Whatever I do I will add a picture of it.

I'm so sorry for your loss.  Beautiful Serafina was certainly blessed to have you and you to have her.

I am so sorry. You gave her a good life, and really fought for her. It's always painful to lose a cat, but it always seems harder when they are young. I love the little set up there. Serafina would have loved it--and from over the RB, I'm sure she is.

Its been a month to the day. and this morning I appear to be a emotional wreck, nothing but tears since i woke up. Damn I miss my baby so much...... Guess I've been lucky. This is the first time I've had to deal with death and know what was going on. Your never prepared to tell someone to take your babys life away. I know it was for the best for her, but I still feel so guilty. The person I loved and cared for the most in this world, is no longer in it. I know I will see her again but until though.... I miss you Serafina. <3

Your altar is very sweet.  I'm so sorry for your pain--with time it will lessen, though that is little comfort when you're in the middle of it, I know.  

Believe me, if you have ever seen the suffering go on and on and you feel so helpless that nothing can be done, feel very sure that you did the right thing in ending her pain. There is no way we should ever let it go on if it is in our power to give peace.  These 'anniversaries' are always so difficult, I still tear up and it's been almost three years. my heart goes out to you, I pray that you  will be blessed to hurt so bad because of loving so much. I hope you can find comfort in your precious memories and from sharing your pain with us. I would take away your pain if I could, take care.................
