No - she was 8-9 months old (we think) when I found her at the farm where I keep my pony. She was hiding in a cellar, and was in pretty poor shape when I got her. She's now the definition of a Velcro cat!:lol3:

Well we had a great weekend. Zander is playing and very active, like a healthy kitten should be. Her nose is still lopsided but it is better and so adorable.  am amazed at how much weight she has gained since Thursday. She looks like a completely different kitten. I have been picking her up a little and loving on her then putting her down so she will know that being picked up is not always bad. She is getting better but we are just taking it slow. If she never likes to be picked up a lot that's fine too. She will stand and let you pet her for as long as you want and even grab your hand if she isn't finished yet. It's just too cute.

I tried to get a decent picture of her this morning but she is very camera shy and well refuses to cooperate. I have a couple that are ok but not great. So thanks again to everyone who have kept up with her and here are pictures of her this morning.

Camera shy baby.

Not a happy camper to be picked up for a picture. LOL Love the look on her face.
"What's with the camera already, mom?"

The sideways shot of her makes me want to snuggle my face in there. Cat huffing, I think they call it?
:banana2:

Can't find my cat to get my fix, so in honor of all things happy, I'll send Zander my favorite emoticon!

Hahahaha.  Ruby was a bit Velcro-y when I first adopted her, but she's a bit more independent now, so I can at least get some things done without a cat in the middle of everything!

Oh she was giving me looks like I was the evil paparazzi after a shot for a trash magazine, LOL. If she could speak human she really would have had some bad words to say to me, but I know those looks so I got these two and quit, LOL

I just read this saga for the first time and she is SO lucky that you found her and insisted on a thorough exam! She's a real trooper, and she'll turn out to be a real lover-bubbles. I've had two cats, one male one female, who were/are not picker-uppers either, but affectionate just the same.

Oh yes she HAS to be loved on and demands it but just doesn't want to be picked up and that's alright with me. Of course she did this morning.

I had a scare last night. She was no where to be found. My BF said he thought she went outside with Sammy, my other cat, and he hasn't seen her since. When I got home from work there was still no sign of her. I called and looked all around the house and yard but couldn't find any sign of her. So reluctantly I went to bed hoping if she followed Sammy to the barn he would take care of her.

When I got up this morning to get ready for work there she was on top of the microwave yelling at me for breakfast. I grabbed her and give her lots of hugs and kisses, she did not object. Then I got her breakfast and while she ate I continued to pet and love on her because when I would stop she would quit eating to come to me to get petted. I was definitely relieved knowing she was still inside and alright.

This little girl is going to give me a heart attack before she's grown LOL but she is such a sweetheart.

No she didn't leave the house. She did go on the front porch for a few but went back in the house and he didn't see her. She is so little she can hide in even the smallest of spaces. She loves to sleep on the counter between the microwave and the wall so she was well hidden and he don't know her hiding places.

She is still safe and sound at home. She has become very mouthy since getting better, but I don't mind at all.

Mouthy is definitely good :D Asha got more and more vocal as she got better too. I think part of it is saying 'thank you for rescuing me and helping me feel better.'

If its any consolation we 'lost' Asha this morning. We went all round the house calling for her, and eventually (after the third of fourth time of looking there) found her on top of a pile of cushions on my wardrobe! She was snuggled in so tight that we couldn't see her until I stood on my bed - the little minx actually slept through all our calls AND the smell of her breakfast! :lol3::bat:

Yikes!! You might want to get her a collar with a bell....or a GPS! I "lost" Robin two nights ago, after running down stairs and up (bad storm led to leaky ceilings/roof.) I thought I had chased him back in, but a couple hours later, at dawn, I got ready for bed and he was nowhere. Well, he was somewhere---in the hall outside my apartment!! Dusty!! Looking both bored and annoyed. Huh? He can't shut up inside my place, then sneaks out and sits there quiet as a mouse. Bugger. I need a collar camera, lol.

@Columbine  She is a grey tabby too so that don't help when looking for her. She blends in so well.

@misterwhiskers  A collar with a bell is actually a good thing. Since she is so small we could keep up with her.

Update.... I was able to get a good look at her nose this morning and it is looking much better but I noticed that the side where she had the larvae is pretty much closed up. She is still breathing fine, no gravely noises. I guess there was too much damage for it to heal correctly. I will be taking her back to the vet for a checkup in about a week to make sure everything is alright and also to get her shots. Other than that she is absolutely wonderful.

And yes @Stewball  mouthy is good. I'm so happy to see her acting like a kitten.

Its so good to hear that Zander's continuing to do well. Definitely a long time coming, but so worth it. I just hope the way her nose is healing isn't going to cause any further problems for her :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

I hope Zander is continuing to do well. I have been following all what you and she have been through and was so pleased to hear of the final outcome. I hope you 2 have many happy years together.

Thanks @Polsmum

Zander is doing amazing!!!! She is so lively and plays all the time. I have tried all weekend to get an updated picture of her but all I get are blurs of grey fur.

I do have a good update though. She is now letting me hold her and cuddle more. She is such a precious baby I couldn't imagine not having her in my life. When I get home from work I hear her running to the living room calling to me. When I am in the bathroom, she is winding around my feet and hugging my hands. When I pick her up to cuddle she has the sweetest purr, it's so soft but I love holding her close to hear it and giving her kisses.

I will try to get an updated picture until I get a good one. Keeping her still is not easy.

@kntrygrl256  Maybe Zander feels a little shy to take photos, so recently after her "nose job" HAHAHAHAHAH! Give her time!

I am so happy she 's doing well and recovering and unfolding her wonderful purrsonality - Keep up the good work

Ya know I didn't even consider that. I will have to be more like paparazzi and sneak around to catch a picture of her when she least expects it.
