I have two male 3 month kittens that i bottle fed and its my first time owning a male cat. I grew up with a female cat thats still kickin at 15 years old. She hasnt had any health issues besides a uti once.

I heard that male cats have risks such as "crystals"? I havent learned much about them but that it can be caused by eating a fish diet. Is this true and what other health risks are males prone to? Want to make sure i know so i can catch it early on

Male cats are more prone to UTI  due to their narrow Urethera .

.  Water is key to a happy urinary tract. Keeping the urine at the proper pH will help prevent crystal and stone formation in the urine. By feeding a balanced diet with plenty of water, the crystals are flushed out of the bladder.

That is why an all wet or mostly wet diet is recommended for cats especially male cats ..

Personally I think what you are doing is fine .   My two cats eat two meals of wet (Fancy Feast with added water ) and one meal of kibble .  However if your kittens really like the wet food and you want to feed more wet than I would say go for  it ..

I had two male cats that were prone to crystals, infections, blockage, etc. They both ate prescription dry food from the vet's office, nothing else. One lived to age 12 and one lived at age 14. Another thing that I did to help my cats was to give them filtered water.
