I recently took in a stray kitten last night, about a few week old I think. After finally luring her into the garage (quite a challenge really), she started warming up to me. She doesn't mind if I lift her and she likes rubbing against my legs and hands, even standing on two legs to reach out for my hand. However just now, after feeding her, I let her roam around the garage. When I lifted her up to my chest, she would cuddle for a while and then that's when she bit me. I know that's how they play but I still find it weird that she would do that. Of course, it was a play bite, no actual piercing. But when I let her down, she would alternate between cuddling around my leg and clawing at my leg. She even tried to sneak a little play bite. Is that normal?

Very normal.  She's been separated from her mom and siblings and has now found a new playmate!  When she bites, give a short, shapr hiss.  It is the way her siblings would have taught her limits.  Biting is not good, even play biting!

Thank you for helping her.  I have one suggestion.  If you have a smaller place than the garage for her to stay, she may feel a little more secure.  A garage is an awfully big place for a little kitten to get used to right away.

Somehow, she's not biting anymore, even when I put her up my chest. Didn't have to do the hissing thing. But she still tries to claw/climb up my leg. That's when I give a little hiss. Also, sadly, the garage is the only place for her to stay since my sister has been slightly traumatized by cats. I hid all potentially dangerous objects though. And she climbs up the shelves to sleep sometimes.
