I have my two boys that I love with all my heart. I have come across very hard times, and I'm afraid that I may need to find a new home for my babies. I am very protective of them and I need a great home for them. If I could find Foster home or a loving person to take care of them, then that would be great.

Gosh. It says a lot about you as a pet owner that you are willing to put what's best for your babies over your own wants and desires. I'm sending prayers that you can find your kitties good homes!

I am so sorry to read this.  I wish I could help, but I have four cats of my own.

I'm sorry to hear that you're going through this. Can you tell us where you are located in case someone near you sees this and can help?

What about fostering? Do you have a shelter nearby that might have fosters that they work with who might be able to take them until your situation improves?

I live in Kalama, Washington. I don't really know of any foster homes in the area and I honestly don't trust the ones I have come across. After meeting the people, they just seem rude and as if it a burden for them. I want to find someone who could care for them until I can get my life back in order. They are my world and the only positive thing in my life right now. Sorry, crying while I write this. They are my babies and I just want what's best for them.

You need to try to network with rescues and shelters locally.  This is the best chance for finding them good homes.  Please understand that if people seem rude it is probably the result of working day in and day out with society's animal discards.  Your situation is different.  You are not discarding your pets but looking out for their well being.  Unfortunately, the people who volunteer their time, money, and energy in caring for animals in need are often stretched to their maximum because the problem is so huge.  I'm so sorry they've come across rude and make you feel like a burden.

I would say contact anyone and everyone locally, explaining your heart break, just as you have here.  I'm wishing you the best possible outcome.

Are there any shelters in your area? I'm not suggesting that you take your babies to a shelter, but you could call to ask if they have any volunteers who foster cats.

I'm so sorry you are going through this right now. I know it is tough.  I had a friend go through the same thing, & she has a friend that has two cats, take her two, to care for until she gets on her feet. Are there any family members you would trust, that could take them for you?   Also, another suggestion, you can ask your vet if they know anyone who would be willing to help you out until you are able to take them back. My friend still goes & visits her cats, takes them a T shirt she has worn w/ her scent on it to leave for them, etc...   I wish you luck. I will also say a prayer for you.

KarleeM,

I'm so sorry to read about your troubles. Maybe these sites can be of help.

Here are some resources that might be helpful in your state.

http://www.banfieldcharitabletrust.org/pet-owners/pet-food-assistance/

http://www.humanesociety.org/animals/resources/tips/trouble_affording_pet.html

This directory lists food pantries and food banks that might be near you.  You will probably have to do some research to see if they can assist with pet food and possibly litter.

I hope these links are helpful.
