My cat Detective Oreo recently got sick and stopped eating. He was drooling a lot so naturally I took him to the vet. The vet checked him out and said he was fine just nauseous. We think something was off with one of the tubs of Radcat since we had changed the temperature in the fridge while it was defrosting. The vet gave him a shot to help with the nausea and tried to sell me on the "prescription diet" food. My cat pretty much laughed when I offered him some of it. That was all Thursday and Friday. He still wouldn't eat anything but my new kittens food (Nutro Natural choice kitten) which since he had not eaten in two days I wasn't going to stop him since I was just so happy he was eating again. Saturday, I tried the adult version of the kitten food (Nutro Natural Choice Minced Turkey) and and he will eat that. He now refuses to eat the raw food. Should I even try to switch him back to Radcat? Should I try another brand? Or should I just let him keep eating the Nutro?

I'd feed Nutro canned for now untl you can tempt your cat to eating raw food again. Maybe something was just off with that one container of Rad Cat. Try if a new container of Rad Cat does the trick. Maybe even try to transition him back onto Rad Cat using the Nutro. You can try another band of raw food. Sometimes a cat will just decide not to eat a brand anymore.

I tried giving him another flavor or Radcat and he just won't eat it. I tried mixing a little in and he ate around it. Now his new thing is he wont even eat from his old bowl. I have to put his food on a paper plate. So new tubs of Radcat arent working and now I have the bowl issue. Should I just give up and let him eat the Nutro?

I agree with @LTS3 about feeding Detective Oreo the Nutro for the time being. Given DO's recent illness and nausea, it's most likely most important for him to eat, and if Nutro's what he'll eat, even if it's only on paper plates, that's probably what's best for him for now. It may not be Rad Cat, but at least it's decent food! (Our cats eat and enjoy both those brands!) Maybe once he's feeling like his usual self again, he'll go back to Rad Cat.

Assuming DO keeps eating the Nutro and no other health issue comes up, I'd probably wait a while before trying to reintroduce Rad Cat. Our cats can get very picky about variety--they tire of foods easily, despite having a large rotation of canned and raw foods--but if I stop feeding them a "tired" food for weeks or even a month or two, they'll often like it again when I try it out on them later. It might also be worth checking with the vet the illness, the medication, and finickiness.

I know how frustrating it is to try to entice cats to eat. Good luck!
