My cat has been in unbelievablably good health recently for being 15, so I guess I should not be so taken aback that she is now ill.
Over the weekend she had a really hard time with the fireworks and festivities by my house (it was our first fourth in this apartment) and hid for the majority of the weekend. She was still eating and drinking and would occasionally come out to say hello and complain to me.
Last night she puked twice, which is incredibly uncommon for her. She hasn't had any digestive issues since I started growing wheat grass for her to snack on. Today I woke up and she wasn't in bed with me as she usually is and went on to hide in my closet until 8pm tonight which is very unusual, she is very social and loving. When she stumbled out of her spot she had huge goopy eye boogers and looked noticeably thinner and weaker. She rubbed her nose on my and when she pulled away there was a large clump of the tiny, special hairs that cats have on their noses.
I'm not looking for a diagnosis or anything like that, I will be bringing her to the vet first thing in the morning and I will know more then about what's going on with her.
In the meantime, how can I comfort her? I feel very helpless. It probably sounds a little silly, but she's lived with me from elementary school until now and we just moved out for college. I just want her to be as comfortable as possible.

Poor Turtbat! I'm glad to hear you can get her to the vet soon. Is she still eating and drinking?

She might be happy with a quiet place to curl up in. If she likes your closet you could make her a bed in there with one of your sweaters, something soft that smells of you. If it's a bit cool try putting a hot water bottle in there with her.

Some cats like to have their people near them when they're feeling sick, other like to be left alone. She'll let you know what she wants. Just make sure she's warm enough and gets some peace and quiet until morning.

Hope it's nothing serious.
