My kitten Lucifer is just over three months old, and he had an FHO last Wednesday.  Due to the surgery, he is required to wear his e-collar for two weeks, until his incision has healed.  Obviously, this prevents him from grooming anything but the end of his tail and his back paws.  He's starting to smell a little musty, but I can't give the little guy a bath because I can't get the incision wet.  What's the best way to help him keep clean without potentially irritating his skin or getting the incision wet?

I would give him a break from his e-collar when you can be with him to prevent any damage he may do to his stitches, although if they are dissolving type they are well on their way to healing or have healed.

Allow him some time to groom himself, and btw, it's fine for him to groom the stitched area too, and he will likely go right to this because he wants the vet smells off of him.

2 weeks is rather a long time for healing stitches.

Thanks for your quick response.  I think two weeks is a little long too, but I'd rather not go against the surgeon's orders and risk him getting an infection.  I'll just have to let him have some supervised grooming sessions, and hopefully he'll be able to clean up enough to get less stinky. :)  Might help him along around the neck area with a damp cloth or something since that's where his collar has been sitting.

Yes, good way to give him a hand.

If these are in fact dissolving stitches, once you see the stitches are gone, the skin has fused together and there will not be a risk of infection.

Good luck!
