Hey everyone. I just got my kitten yesterday and she's been perfect so far. I noticed this morning a little spot on the inside corner of her right eye. I was planning on bringing her to the vet later, I just want to make sure this isn't anything harmful. Thanks!

Those look like dried discharge.  Some cats have looser tear ducts than others and are prone to discharge.  I usually wipe it away with a washcloth or finger the same way you'd rub 'sleep' out of your eyes in the morning.  Unless the discharge coming from kitty's eyes is yellow or green, it's usually not a problem.  Black is the color that the discharge just normally dries, in my experience.  The yellow and green would indicate a bacterial infection in the eyes.

Frankly though I see it a lot more in cats that have white coloring around the eyes as it seems to predispose them to looser tear ducts, but I've seen it black and tabbies too.  At this point I would keep an eye on it.  If it is profuse, changes colors, is accompanied by a prolapsed third eyelid, or seems to be bothering your cat, then I would contact the vet at that point.
