I wasn't sure which forum to put this on so have gone with this one

My husband is going to paint and wallpaper our flat next week for the first time since we have a kitty. She is an indoor cat of 9 years and we have had her since January.

I am concerned about her whilst he is doing this.

How can we stop her standing in the paint?

How can we stop her licking the wallpaper paste?

How can we stop her sleeping on the wallpaper when she sits on any bit of paper that is left on the floor (even receipts)?

Will the fumes harm her?

My main concern is that I will be at work whilst my hubby and his dad are doing the decorating so I won't be there to check on puss. I know my hubby will but his dad isn't used to having pets and probably won't think about her.

Your best bet would be to confine her to a room (with a litter box, water, etc.) while they're working. She might not like it, but it'll be safer for her and preferable to a bath.
