I have two cats, one Black Tuxeodo who is almost a year and one Orange tabby and calco mix who was born in febuary. They get along great, Younger one is a girl older one a boy. We have a huge litter box with low sides, its never overly dirty. The girl, Kilo recently has been climbing on our closet shelves and peeing all over washclcothes and lotions. And then going in the tub and pooing. And now one of them insead of going in the litter box, poos right next to it and then the next time it goes will go in the box. Its confusing SOMEONE PLEASE HELP.

This is always a cry for help from cats.  Something has changed that is stressing them.  When you find out what it is you can fix it.  Sadly, I just put up with it with my departed loved one & I could have saved him years of stress if I had been paying attention to the cause.

Hi @KILOandZEUS and welcome to TCS!

When cats go outside the litterbox it can be because of a UTI.. You really need to take her to the vet to get her checked over.

The other thing that could well be happening is that, as cats grow, they wee and poo a lot more!
Many cats will decide they don't like to wee where they poo, and/or they don't want to use the same box as the other cats and/or they think it's just too dirty (and too dirty could be a completely different thing in their eyes than in yours.. some cats won't use a box that has any sign of use).  And then, if one goes elsewhere, the other could easily follow.

So:
  • have your girl checked for a possible illness (and weeing on soft things is often a sign of this)
  • clean the litterbox thoroughly and get at least one more
  • clean the areas where they have been outside the box thoroughly with an enzyme cleaner - they can smell things you couldn't possible have any idea about.
  • make sure you keep the boxes scrupulously clean
We also have the definitive litterbox guide here.

Good luck!
