Hi all,

Hope someone can help

Am writing on behalf of Duran.

In South Africa the only binders we get are metal based which my vet is reluctant to use as it causes mote problems.

Vetoquinol have a chitosan based binder but they refuse to sell to me. In fact until, after weeks of sending them emails, they only replied when I gave a scathing review on various facebook site. So much for them caring about our animals.

My question is can I use chitosan to reduce the phosphorus and if so how much.

I am waiting for local pharmacist to give full analysis because I obviously don' want to go poisoning Duran.

Any help will be gtarefully received.

I don't know the answer to your question, but maybe you can find the answer on this site http://www.felinecrf.org/phosphorus.htm

The folks at that site also have a yahoo group you can join where they might have people who can answer that specific question too.

If nothing else, that sign has tons of helpful information on everything kidney cat related.  I have a kidney cat myself, and use it almost daily for specific questions.

Best of luck to you and your furry friend.
