There was a post on a local facebook  page needing someone to take a young kitten. At first my husband said no, then the girl posted a picture of this starving weak kitten. Jim said go get him. This vet says this little one is under three weeks old closer to 2 weeks. It is a walking skeleton, I think it is a boy. His head is as big as his body. you can feel every bone in his body. I spent the night dropping milk in him 15-20 minutes apart. He finally went to sleep about 4 am. when he woke up he had a good drink and was peppy. He is drinking well today. I got him some nurti-cal supplement. I just found out this girl has three female cats all three have kittens under her mobile home. She has been trying to get someone to get rid of them.

Poor little guy, he's so tiny!

I'm going to move your thread to our cats and kittens forum so you'll get some advice from our more experienced posters there.

Nice to have you back on TCS.

With these straigh up ears he is surely at least 3 weeks, maybe even 4.  But he is undernourished, that is why he looks younger than he is.

What sort of milk do you use?   Exactly?

Wise of you to give little but often.   That is the trick with these emaciated and starved.

Do you need links on helping orphans?    I do remember your nick, but I dont remember exactly what errands, if you had earlier orphans and got links.

The girl in in the mobile flat.  She would need help with spaying of these cats...   You know perhaps of some suitable TNR group in there around, and could tip her?   And help her contact this TNR group.

She is apparently no evil person, but she realizes things are going over her head, and she has no clear idea what can be done...

Good luck!

Thank you for rescuing this poor little kitten. With your loving care he will likely thrive. The nutrical is good for now. Some clear pedialyte mixed in will also help to rehydrate him.

Get a can of powdered KMR by PetAg and some Fancy Feast pate chicken, and mix the milk and wet food to make a paste that you can offer with the syringe. You may want to show him the mixture on a dish to see if he will eat on his own as soon as he feels up to it. I would also get a kitten nurser bottle and offer him the warm kitten milk in a bottle. He may relish suckling the bottle as soon as he is able.

Is he going pee and poop on his own? If so, show him a kitten litter box to use. If not, he may need tummy rubs and having his bum rubbed with a warm, damp cotton ball to stimulate him to go. This is done after each meal. If he is starved, he may not poop yet, but you will know he is well hydrated when he pees frequently for you.

You should weigh your kitten. He needs to gain 6-10 grams a day and weigh around a pound at one month of age, so you will need to feed him every hour or two once he is caught up.

Give him a soft stuffed toy to cuddle with in his box, and a heating pad set on low under the blanket for warmth. Leave space for him to move away if he gets too warm. These measures will ensure his comfort, and kittens need to be warm to eat and digest.

What ages are the other litters under her trailer? She needs to contact a local rescue group for help. Not animal control but a cat rescue group that has a no-kill policy to help the kittens thrive and find homes and to spay the moms. Please help this gal with this if you can by making some phone calls and passing the information along.

Please ask questions as you need to and good luck with this precious kitten! Let us know how he is doing. :)

Ihave kmr baby is now drinking and toileting well. My first kitty on here was also a bottle baby. This little one is doing much better. He is trying to play.he looks much bigger in the picture. The vet said formulas and nutri cal. I have pedialite needed
. There are no rescue groups here. Unfortunately Most people here don't spay or neuter we are trying to get some bylawsi n place. This is a old farming community. They see cats as disposable

This is good news! Does he have an eye infection? I just noticed in your picture that one of his eyes looks different.

orphaned kitten just around 3 weeks. Feeding him KMR this is day 2 , he has developed diahrea. went through this with my first bottle baby. I am mixing pedialite with formula as I did before. My friend just brought me fresh goats milk. She said kitty would do better with the goats milk. Should I keep up with the kmr and pedialite or switch him to goats milk?

Goats milk may be better.  You can give him a few drops of  pedialyte in between feedings.  Let us know how it is working.

He has a bit of his 3rd eyelid showing. vet said it is a sign he's not feeling well. if it doesn't clear up or it gets a discharge then I will take him back in. Buster has diareha now. he is still quite peppy. found out the three cats with kittens under the girls trailer were all dropped off on her property.

That's awful that people dump their cats in trailer parks. Have you had a chance to contact any rescue organizations about possibly rescuing the mamas and kittens?

Goats milk is excellent for kittens. You can mix the pedialyte into it if you wish. Hope he gets to feeling better!

there are no rescues in this area :(   the trailer is actually on a farm. It angers me greatly. There are several of us trying to get a TNR program in place. we don't have a lot of support. most people think these cats should be put down. unfortunately this is what most people do in this area

Those poor kitties!

Is the gal living in the trailer feeding them?

Do you have a Humane Society anywhere nearby you could work with on TNR?
