I have a kitten that is about 9 weeks. I got her at about 4. Her situation was very sketchy. They lied about her age and breed. I didn't care I just cared that she was healthy. She had no fleas or eye discharge. Their house had no windows and their door was just a sheet. There were cats everywhere. About 15 that I could see in the two rooms I was in. She is fine with her regular food, but whenever I give her treats she growls if I touch her. Outside of that, she is very loving and playful. She sleeps in my bed with me. I have a 13 year old as well. The older female is not the nicest to her but they're ok. She is now eating dry food. Will she outgrow this aggression thing? Any suggestions to what I could do to help it? Thanks in advance!

It sounds like your kitten is growling at you to stay away from her treats so she can enjoy them all to herself! Kittens this age are learning new behaviors every day and testing their skills. Are you giving her lots of wet food and kitten chow to grow on? She needs plenty several times a day at this young age. Post a picture of your kitten if you can! :)

Oh, what a cutie! She needs wet food several times a day. Can you give her wet food too? And is the dry food kitten chow? Kitten chow has essential vitamins and minerals in it that she needs the first year.

Yes it is Purina kitten chow. And yes of course I can give her wet.

Oh, good it's kitten chow. She will love the wet food and will grow better on it along with the dry food left out all the time. Fancy Feast makes nice pate and classic that's easy for kittens to eat!

thanks for all your help! I was just a little weirded out by her aggression because since I got her at 4 weeks I had been giving her formula, then wet mixed wort the formula, then just wet now dry (and I will be adding wet throughout the day). I just figured she kind of had no reason to think I would take it away.

She just doesn't want to share.  Get your own! LOL

I love watching their personalities emerge.  Yesterday Fluffy (10mths) swatted my daughters face when she tried to kiss her.

My kittens growl at each other over toys! There are plenty, but they want what each other has. Like little children who don't know how to share! :)
