July 4th is a sad day

I still hate July 4 since it's the day my BJ went to Rainbow Bridge. It's been 11 years - can't believe it's that long --- but we still remember him and miss him. I think we'll drink a toast to BJ tomorrow, but enjoy the fact that Angel came to us right after we lost BJ. Her full name is "BJ's Angel" because we really feel she was his gift to us. Sometimes she's such a little devil that we wonder if BJ was just getting even with us! She has a temper and definitely a mind of her own. Nobody tells Angel what to do!

Anyway, happy July 4 to everyone.

Oh, I'm sorry it's a sad memory for you.  A toast to your BJ and one to Angel, too, sounds like a good plan!  

So sorry about BJ. Even though it's been years since my Milo and Wesley crossed over the bridge, it still hurts. And of corse it does, they are members of the family. I'm glad you have Angel to help provide comfort.

I'm so sorry.  I do the same thing...associate days or songs or even books with terrible events in my life, and I understand what you mean.

I think Angel definitely was sent by BJ, sometimes the spirit tries to comfort in any way it can, in this case by passing on his legacy of love  in the form of another little soul to love and treasure. It's so hard to open the heart again, to love again, I applaud you for doing so and for giving sweet Angel a loving home. BJ's star shines a little brighter knowing his legacy is passed on, and I know that Angel carries that same legacy to share with you and to bring you comfort. May you be blessed for loving God's creatures and for caring for them so much, take care..... RIP beautiful BJ, you were greatly loved and will never be forgotten!
