Yes, fingers crossed you won't have to call again.

I don't know what the red thing could be, but I'm sending good vibes your way for you and Naira anyways!

May she have beautiful, fat round, super cute babies!

Is her belly rippling? If so, it is probably pre-labor. It's pretty incredible to watch, and can last for hours.

I don't know if its rippling...i think its just the kittens moving around.

It looked a lot like this:

Naira's belly didn't have quite as much movement as that cat, but how the kittens moved was similar.

Hmm. Okay. Not sure what to think. That was not labor in that video though. Just purring.

In the video, you can see the kittens moving about in the cats stomach. That was how the movement in Naira's stomach looked, just not as pronounced (she probably either has less kittens than that cat or her kittens are smaller)

But, so far so good. Haven't seen any more blood, her second poop of the day was mostly normal (one small soft turd, rest was normal, and she normally goes twice a day) and she's still acting fine and eating and drinking well.

Unfortunately, we had to move Nairas crate outside and confine her to it once again (if we let her wander outside, we'd never find the kittens). My dog today was literally digging chunks of wood out of the door to try and get to her. If the had managed to get the hole any bigger, he would've been able to squeeze in (he's not very big, he's a Jack Russell). We can't have him tearing the house apart because my mom and I are renters, so the landlord could force us to get rid of the dog or kick us out. After seeing what he's willing to do to a door to get to her, we also feel she would be safer outside in her crate.

We put the crate in the garage, where my old dog used to sleep before she passed (old age), so Naira will be safe and dry there. I'm not too happy about having to put her back out, I got used to her being in, but I'd rather not have the danger of the dog getting her (he has a high prey drive). I didn't think he'd flip out this badly lol

So he gets the run of the house and she gets the garage?

Yes. I don't agree with it. I had the idea of cleaning up the second dog crate we have (we have an old one outside, from when we took in a sick stray cat before), and bringing it inside putting him in there while my mom and I are away so that he couldn't destroy anything. But her "reasoning" for not doing that was that he would really flip out then. I don't see the point of being worried about him flipping out if he's confined to a cage, since he can't destroy anything in there (I highly doubt he'd be able to destroy a metal cage). But its her house, she pays the rent and the bills, so I can't really go against her on it (I'm only living here until I graduate from college next year and can afford my own place).

If it were up to me, the dog would be in a crate when nobody's home and Naira would have my bedroom and the adjoining bedroom to roam.

Sigh. Is there no way she can be in the bedroom with you AND the dog?

No, the dog would never leave her alone. She probably wouldn't feel safe with him either, because when she was outside he would chase her every time he saw her (I always scolded him when he did that, but he doesn't listen well). She probably wouldn't feel safe either because when I was keeping her in the cage in my room, he managed to get in and went up to the cage and she let out the meanest hiss I've ever heard. I don't think he wants to hurt her, I think he just wants to play (he grew up with a cat, and when he chased her outside he could have grabbed her multiple times but he didn't), but she doesn't know that and he likes to play a bit rough.

I do understand your mom's concerns as a renter. Can the cat be in your room with you at night perhaps, and the dog in your mom's room with her? Just trying to think of a way to give your cat a break from the crate.

Can you put the dog outside for a while and let the cat roam your room while he is out?  What is the temp in your garage?  Hot?  Cold?  Fluctuating?  When she has the kittens they need to be warm.

Sorry I haven't replied in a while, I've been really busy with work (they upped my hours). Naira wouldn't be able to come in and out of the house. She hates the cat carrier and I don't want to stress her out by keeping trying to get her to go in it. My mom has to leave in the mornings before I do, and I'm normally still asleep when she leaves so Jack (the dog) would start barking and digging at my door when she leaves. Jack can't be outside by himself, because he either runs off or barks nonstop.

But, I don't think moving her is an option now anyway. I went outside today to find these in her (dirty) litterbox (sorry for the dirty litter box, I forgot to clean it yesterday and was going to clean it today)

She has three beautiful tabby kittens with nice plump bellies! I think she's doing a good job feeding them since their bellies are so plump.

Yes, time to move them. The litter box is not the best place for kittens. Is mom still eating well? Does she ever get to leave the crate to walk around the garage?

I tried moving the kittens to the nesting box, but she wanted to move them back. So I tried putting the nesting box where her litter box is, she still didn't like it. I don't think she likes how it has a roof and high sides, so I made her a new nesting box out of an old shoe box. The sides are high enough so the kittens can't get out, but low enough so that she can get out and theres no roof. Put it where her litter box was and she likes this one just fine.

No, I don't let her out of the cage. Before, it was because I didn't want her to have the kittens outside of the cage. Now, she has zero interest in leaving the cage (I had both ends of the cage open when I was moving stuff around, and she just sat with her kittens. I can't leave the cage open when I'm not there, because there is no door on the garage (it's open to the outside, but its summer so its normally pretty warm outside. Its actually colder in my house than it is outside), and since I live in the country there are other animals about. I'm sure the other two cats that frequent the garage (Naira's mom and her kitten) would live Naira's kittens alone, but I'm not sure what other animals lurk about.

Also, would an umbilical cord fall off on its own? One of Naira's kittens still has one. Its not attached to anything (not attached to a placenta, or to Naira or anything, just the kitten). Will it fall off on its own or should I cut it off? Naira seems to have no idea its still there lol
