My 1 year old siamese has gotten a bad case of cat acne. I changed his bowls and that didn't help so now I'm trying to figure out what else I can do. I have triple antibiotic Neosporin that I have used on my other cats so I know it doesn't make them sick if ingested but I don't would like to know if that will even help or if I need to get something else. Any suggestions would be awesome.

If the cat doesn't have any open wounds you can use regular strength stridex pads. That's what my vet recommended for my cat and it worked really well. I'm not sure if neosporin would help or not. In some cases if gets really severe they need prescription medication.

Neosporin won't work. Antibiotics won't do anything for acne. Try acne cleaning pads like Stridex instead or witch hazel. Wipe under the chin once daily. If the acne is just black specks and not red bumps, gently comb under the chin with a fine toothed comb to remove the specks.

I have tried stridex wipes, Neosporin, changing the bowls and everything. It is still just black dots at this point but it isn't clearing up, what else can I do?

You might need to get to the vet for a shot and a prescription medication that will clear it up.  You can try Hibiclens, found at a pharmacy to clean the area.  It could very well be an allergic reaction to something she's eating or something in the environment.  What do you feed her?  Have you recently changed foods or varieties?

Actually, I have changed his food. Right around the time this all started. I'm going to change his food back and see!

If it's dry food, remember to transition slowly to avoid gastro problems.
