I've no idea what breed he is but I've had assumptions. This is a photo when we first got him, he was a stray so he looks a little skinny in this photo.

He has lovely blue eyes like a Siamese also.

He is a pretty, stunning beauty.  But he is no balinese.  Balinese are semi-longhair siamese, and he is no longhair, he is shorthair.  (unless in reality he did got longer fur now).

So compare him instead to an old type siamese, or some variation thereof.  Tonkinese for example.

He is seal point, ie black point.  These black points are born almost white, and tend to darken up with time.   He is thus not any longer any kitten on the photo, probably 2+ year, is my guess.

All these "old type siameses" arent as slender as modern siamese, but are yet supposed to be rather slender.   So for me he doesnt looks as a little skinny, but sooner as being in good shape and condition...

Is he the real thingm ie a purebred whom happened to got astray?    I think its quite possible.

Although its not sure at all.  Points are a nice twist of nature.  The point gene by itself is rather weak and recessive.   It doesnt shows itself if alone in the pair of genes.   Almost all other genes are stronger.

But doubled up, one from mom and one from dad,  (the parents may have whatever looks but are carriers)  it becomes suddenly  strong, and gives the kittens almost all the outer appareances:  we do get a point, and not seldom, a look alike of an old type siamese.

Such happens for example, in the Russian Blue breed. Because  the breeders used some few blue pointed siameses back  for 60 years ago.   And these genes still pop up sometimes, although the breeders avoid to breed on known point carriers since at least 50 years....

Had you been at the vet, and looked if he has a chip?  Many, but not all, purebreds do have a chip...

Also, consult the vet re the expected body mass.   If he was skinny then, I suppose he is not skinny any longer.   But if he  IS supposed to be slender and somewhat skinny, being no longer skinny means he is rather fattish.

As said, on the photo he doesnt seem skinny, rather in good condition

Hope you have some use of my rant.

Good luck!

He could be a Tonkinese?  Have any more pictures?  Is his fur extra, extra soft?  I own a Tonk and I've always joked with her that when she passes, I must have her fur made in to house slippers.
