Hoping somebody may have an idea.
Quite simply, I'm looking for an I.D. tag (or holder) that attaches length-wise along a collar (i.e., by threading the collar length-wise through the holder), and is made of a soft, flexible material with an insert to hold a tag.
Reason: our local council provide a new tag each year with reference ninfo that can change (so, no hope of using a permanent, engraved tag or specialised, printed collar). Unfortunately, the tag they provide, whilst reasonable (probably) for a large dog, is, IMO, extremely dangerous for a cat. Made of a tough plastic and far too big, it clips around the collar, ends up in a large loop, and is almost guaranteed to get caught on something within minutes of being attached. After losing my little girl, Kîa, in April (yes: she was registered and microchipped; mandatory here), having no tag is no longer an option. However, using the Council tag is useless, even with a good break-away; one just ends up losing the collar and tag!
I'd prefer also to avoid dangling tags that attach to the collar D-ring, partially for the same reason, and also because one is supposed to use the official council tag, which would have no hope of fitting into that type of tag holder without being cut to ribbons.
A holder that attaches length-wise along a collar would be the ideal solution.
