I am not sure if this is where this goes or not, but it seemed logical. While I was out of town in April my husband goofed and let one of my girls run with my stud. He said he didn't realize she was out shaded silver

I think a brown tabby

Might be a golden - have to wait until older to tell for certain.

So sorry you lost the little silver. :sniffle:

What is the definition of golden? I've been clerking for CFA and have seen the Golden division but never knew exactly what it is.

Keep us updated on the progress of the other babies and mama.

A shaded golden is basically a golden tabby without the tabby markings. They all were brown tabbies at the start, but with selective breeding the barring diminished and the color improved to golden. When born they ALL are tabby - the barring blends with age (hopefully!
). You rarely see a golden with no barring whatsoever. The easiest way to judge a tiny kittens color is to look just in front of the ears - the more golden, the better the adult coat color.

I love the pictures of the babies.  I am so sorry about the one that didn't make it.  I know nothing about pregnant kitties and breeding so this is a stupid question.  Does a C-section mean no more litters?

No, a cat that has had a C section can have more litters. Lottie, however will not since I decided to have her spayed after the delivery.
