In September i took in a third cat, who will be one in August. Her former owner had another cat who made it clear she was a one cat household kind of cat. I have two other cats, who are very docile, sweet and well mannered, they are friendly playful but chill. Then there's Mika. She is nutz. She eats everything in sight, destroys anything she can get her claws on, chases my other cats even when they make make it clear they dont want to play, & runs tearing through the house at all hours of the day and night. Keeping me up at night. They have plenty of toys towers, beds, hiding places, access to clean water, they are fed every morning, given treats often, (except when being bad, everything kitties could want. my fiance & I both play with them several times a day. When she is not being a nut job, she is a sweet, friendly, talkative little lap cat, we all love her and she is clearly bonded with the other two, but only when she isn't being crazy. She wants more attention than two humans and two cats can give her, I can't play with her all day I work full time. What can I do to help her calm down? I am frustrated with her but don't want to rehome her. She is fixed and healthy. We intend to have a baby soon and I'll lose my **** if this adorable little terror wakes me or my little one up from our naps. Thanks in advance for any advice!!

She is still young and young kitties have lots and lots of energy.  Unfortunately she does need lots of play time and lots of attention.  You are gone all day and she misses you and wants to see you and play with you.  Since she doesn't get any energy out of her system while you are working she probably sleeps all day and is awake wanting to play all night.  I can imagine the frustration.  Most cats are not eager to play by themselves.

Have you tried playing with her before bedtime and then offering her last meal of the day right before bed?  Cats like to hunt, catch, kill, eat, groom and sleep.  Do you have a da bird toy or laser pointer?  Really get her moving.  The play session may need to last 20 minutes.  Then offer her a meal or small meal.  She then should groom herself and at least take a nap.

You can look into Composure calming treats or Composure liquid max.  It is a calming supplement that is non sedating.  Yet I am uncertain that it will help since your cat is still so young and just has a lot of energy.  She will grow out of this, but I can tell you it may take awhile.  Some cats slow down around the year mark, but others enter the "toddler" stage and the energy and acting like a toddler continues.

I know you do not want to rehome her.  Have you looked into Jackson Galaxy?  He has a show on the Animal Planet called "My Cat From Hell".  He works with really difficult cats and has great suggestions.  He gives ideas on specific toys and how to play with your cats.  He also has a line of flower essences called Spirit Essences.  I have used quite a few on my cats throughout the years.  Do a search on him and you might find some helpful info.
