Hi. I'm not looking for advice as to how to help the stray cats that live next to my apartment as to how to deal with the fact that I can't.
I want to bring them into my apartment, but I live with my parents, and they won't have them, even if I pay for everything.
What do I do? I don't feel right leaving them there, and we're - maybe - moving somewhere else soon, and no one will care for them because everyone in my building is rich and self-centered and annoying.
I would keep coming to feed them, but that's not possible if we move to another city. I even considered paying the doorman to do it, but how would I get the food to him?
Sorry, I'm getting carried away. I just wanted to know what you guys do to cope when you really can't help and you really want to.
Oh, and also, my country doesn't have shelters like I know some countries have, so I can't even find someone else to take them,
I've tried to contact some non-profits in my area, but haven't managed to get a positive response. One person from those actually suggested I just move away and leave them there because trying to find them a home that isn't mine would be worse!
Anyway...thanks for reading. I really don't know what to do, about how I feel or the cats themselves.

It can be frustrating to want to do something and be unable to.  We've all faced situations like that.  Right now, I have eight cats - it started with a pair of kittens I found in the parking lot at work!  Ten years later, I can't do any more.  It sadden me a lot but I have had to face the fact that there's only so much one can do.

As a young person, though, you can begin looking ahead.  Even if you can't do anything right now, you can continue to talk to people about the situation, pointing out some solutions, perhaps.  I know people sometimes don't listen to kids but keep perstering the adults in your life.  Even if it doesn't result in action right now, you will have planted a seed.

As you grow and become more independant, you can join forces with other like-minded people.  The shelter situation in your country would frustrate me, for sure.

Just know that I think your heart is in the right place.  Decide now to follow your feelings and do what you can, when you can!
