Do you think it's okay to feed bones for dogs to cats? And what ingredients should I watch out for?

I've tried to feed raw chicken thigh bones to Ming but he won't chew it. I want to exercise his jaw muscles since he only gets wet food or do you think it's not necessary?

However, when I play with him with a wand toy, I sometimes play (gentle) tug of war with him when he's got the mouse in his mouth. So that's sort of my attempt to exercise his jaw. Haha!

I would only feed RAW chicken or turkey bones, ideally the neck or the wings. Only neck if your cat has a tendency to gulp down food, and remove the skin as it's usually a major turn off to cats. My cats go crazy for those. Be careful if you do, don't feed any dry food during the previous and next 12 hours at least. This can cause digestive issues. In the case of your cat though, not an issue since he gets wet food.

You could also try dried beef pizzle for dogs (neither of my cats like them though) but I don't recomend artificial bones... even for dogs.

I definitely think it is necessary for cats (and dogs) to have raw meaty bones in order to exercise their jaws and most importantly clean their teeth and gums.
