How old is your kitten?

We have a kitten collar that our kitten is wearing now (at 15 weeks) that goes up to 8 inches. Most cat collars start at 8 inches and up so we have a cat collar that we'll use when she outgrows the kitten one, but for now this kitten collar is still tightened most of the way. Both the kitten collar and cat collar are breakaway collars.

I would stick with the kitten collar.  When our cat outgrew her kitten collar and harness, we donated them to the local rescue.  You may want to buy more than one.  We currently have 3 or 4 collars lost in the house, one on the cat and 2 in reserve.

Where is he being at nights othewise?  Is he sleeping at nights, or is he playing running around?

They often become more attached when a little older...  So its not too late. If he likes you, he will sooner or later come to you.

My cats get closed into the bedroom at night. My kitten always snuggles with me or with my other cat during the night. I'm not sure how to get a cat to do it. Mine just always have.

Some cats don't like to sleep in bed with you.  It has nothing to do with liking you.

I agree not all cats sleep on the bed with you and it does not mean they don't like you.  I have 4 cats and only one of them sleeps on the bed with us every night. One of my cats sleeps with us sometimes and other times he prefers to sleep on top of my couch downstairs.  My oldest cat used to sleep with us every night when she was a baby and now she prefers to sleep on the chair at my desk.  Our youngest cat used to sleep on us every night when he was a kitten. He will sometimes come and visit my hubby in bed but seems to prefer to sleep in the bathroom on our rugs.

Our cats show us they love us in other ways.  Casey greets us at the door when we get home from work and demands pets.  Apollo likes to sit in my lap while I am watching tv and will sometimes take a nap in my lap.  Starbuck likes to ask to be picked up so she can climb on my desk and give me kisses. Sonny jumps in our laps when he wants attention.  Cats have their own way of showing they love us and it does not mean they do not like us because they do not come to sleep on the bed with us.
