This is Sadie, a 19 year old Siamese. She is the Queen of our 3 cat family. In the last year she has become very "picky" on what soft food she will eat. I have tried everything from rotisserie chicken, Tuna  (water and oil) to all flavors and textures of food from Pet Smart,Tyson's, Even Dollar General?. Every morning and evening or when she hears us in the kitchen she makes a bee line to her dish and wants food.

Every time we find a food we  think , We Got It!

I have heard people that cook food, veggies, for the pet?

I tried to join a Siamese forum but they would not except new members due to many strange  behaviors they display. Joni (after The Joni Mitchell) is ADD and 3 years old...another post.

She craves my attention and I give it to her. She acts as if she is 9, not 19...

Sadie and I would appreciate your ideas.

Regards,

George

Hello , Sadie is beautiful ..   Have you tried Weruva ?  It comes in many textures and flavors . You can buy at Petco not sure about Petsmart though ..  On the lower end of the scale is Fancy Feast . Have you tried that ? It is all my cats will eat . Friskies also makes a huge variety of textures and flavors ..

Weruva's a good thought, and I might also suggest Nutro Natural Choice: Nutro is one of the only foods our picky cats (Siamese mixes!) will eat consistently. We feed them Nutro at bedtime and there are only three flavors--minced chicken, sliced turkey, and chunky chicken-- in their nighttime rotation so they must love them!

Also, if Sadie hasn't had a senior blood panel done lately, that might be worth doing, too, to see if there's an underlying health issue.

Good luck!

As far as canned cat food goes, all we can really tell you is to keep trying different flavors, brands and textures.  And if she likes something yesterday, but doesn't like it today, that doesn't mean she won't like it again tomorrow.  Cats are just weird that way.  I have several different brands, and yet more flavors, ALWAYS on my countertop.  ONE of my cats doesn't like variety.  The other two want a constant change in foods, so they get one thing for breakfast, another for lunch, and maybe a repeat for dinner, maybe what they had for breakfast for dinner, who know...kind of depends on how many cans are open in the fridge.  But I also sometimes have to resort to using toppers if they look at me like I'm handing them a serving of poison.  Toppers can range from FortiFlora (you can usually pick this up at a large pet supply store like Petco or Petsmart, or on Amazon, to crushed treats of any kind, to granted parmesan cheese, to dried bonita flakes, to tuna juice (water).

When you serve rotisserie chicken or just tuna, that is not a nutritionally complete meal for a cat, so try to do that sparingly.

If you want to cook your own cat food, that can be done too.  Here is a place to start:  http://www.thecatsite.com/t/264153/home-cooked-cat-food-resources
