All in a few weeks, I lost five cats. Poppy got bit by a snake while taking a kitten to a new spot, I believe. I'm not really for sure because I was at Falls Creek. The following day her oldest kitten Kelthune passed away. I don't know what of, but we all cried. Dumbledore passed away shortly after his brother. He was in good health, so I have no idea what happened. Their cousin, Candy just died yesterday. She was perfect the day before than suddenly she lost a lot of weight and died quickly. Her eyes just changed colors from blue to green... They're all buried near each other. It's really sad.

I am so sorry.  How horrible to lose five at once and not even know why.  You must be devastated.  I've only ever lost one at a time and it almost destroyed me every time.  My heart goes out to you.

I can't even imagine the pain of losing so many in so short of time. My heart goes out to you, I pray you will be blessed for taking in and caring for so many. I'm sure none of them would want you to dwell on their deaths and to think of them with such pain, they would want you to pass on their legacy of love and let them comfort you through the precious memories you hold so dear in your heart. Take care of yourself and surround yourself with those who can support you in your heartache. Please accept my sincere condolences. RIP sweet babies, I 'll keep you in my prayers that you are safe at the Rainbow Bridge!

My deepest sympathies.  I understand your pain.  Over the last month or so, I went from having 8 cats in my house to only two.  I had a Mama cat and four kittens and unfortunately the Mama went into seizures and had to be put down when her four kittens were only four weeks old.  I had to give the kittens up because I work all day and was unable to give them the care they needed.  Then I lost my best baby boy, Sammy, to squamous cell carcinoma.  That was quick and sudden.  I am still missing my boy.  The two I have left, one is 18 and her health is slowly failing and she sleeps mostly in the bathroom all day.  The other is a 10 year old boy who has been fully checked over in the past two weeks and had his teeth cleaned and blood work and is healthy.

But when I come home, the house is quiet.  I miss the cat commotion.

Where do you live? I can probably hook you up with some cats. I live in Oklahoma though. *hugs back*

I'm very sorry for your loss; to lose so many in such a short time must be unbearable. RIP, babies. :rbheart:

Does the vet think they had something highly contagious like distemper? That would be very important to know before bringing other cats into the environment.
