Random update on the little though not much of an update. We're still flooded in but are going to try to take him over to my aunt's house so she can get a few pictures of him and show them to coworkers who are looking for cats, hopefully we get this done soon before he gets much bigger otherwise I don't think we'll be able to find someone to take him. He also has gotten along pretty well with one of our dogs, and is fully on dry food now (mostly due to running out of wet food constantly so we're trying to save what we have for our cat with very few teeth left.) We still are unsure what is wrong with his breathing but he's on some kind of medicine though what it's for I'm not entirely sure. If possible when the water goes down I'm going to try to talk my grandmother into taking him to another vet who actually has equipment and isn't relying on sound alone or a guess.
Another update bad news this time. We finally got the kitten to a vet and he had fluid in his lungs they gave him some shots and sent us home with some medicine if he doesn't improve in about a week we're suppose to go back and have him put to sleep.
I'm not sure the name of the medicine but recently he's gotten worse, I thought it was related to the heat at first since its super hot and humid over here and he nearly over heated on the way back home. Now I'm not sure I just know it's a struggle for him to breathe and if the medicine doesn't clear it up his lungs will eventually give out from the fluid.
I will. I just hope he gets better in a few days, it'll be heartbreaking to have to put him down after getting him through so much. I'll let you all know if theres any improvement in the next few days.
We took him to the vet the other day to see another doctor, they're gonna give him shots and take his blood he hasn't been eating or drinking well so he's very dehydrated. It's not looking good.
I looked up the medicine and it does have loss of appetite as a side effect but he's also been less playful lately mostly just laying around and sleeping he cant eve get to places he used to.
If you ask my grandmother she says its been getting worse
If you ask me I say its been changing on a day to day bases but it hasn't gotten better persay.
I'm just seeing this. So sorry to hear about your kitten. I've dealt with fluid on the lungs in adult cats before. It can be an absolute nightmare. Really hand feeding and coaxing (to the point of putting a tiny amount of food on the tongue to stimulate the tastebuds is what got mine over these humps. Chicken water (liquid from poaching chicken) almost always got mine drinking too. Might be worth a try?
