This is my cats very first litter and I am so excited. [emoji]128522[/emoji] I feel like my cat has been pregnant for what seems like forever. For the last couple of days when my cat Baby lays down she looks like if her stomach is tightening up, what does that mean? Her stomach goes from hard to soft. Does this mean labor is close?
Please help, please and thank you. [emoji]128522[/emoji]

We have a good collection of articles in the Cat Health section which you can access by scrolling up to the brown bar, clicking on Articles, and then choosing the Cat Health section and scrolling through the choices.  You will probably learn a lot from these, and reading them will help you be prepared to help your cat if she needs help.

To make this super easy for you, I am copying the links regarding birth, delivery and newborns for you here.  After reading this information, let us know if you have any more questions.  And good luck with your approaching new arrivals.

Sounds like she's really getting close! Sometimes, the stomach ripples are kitten movements. Other times it can be early contractions, called pre-labor.

I am sure you are very anxious to see kittens soon!

Welcome to the forum! :)

I hope she is close because the anticipation is killing me. Lol s
Also it's been a couple days and she constantly licks her bottom and every time she does I check to see if I see Nothing but I never do, what does that mean?
And I've hear if the cats teats are starting drip milk that she is due any day, but again it's been like this for a couple days.
I'm just nervous since this will be my first actual inside cat giving birth..
I'm not to sure on what to expect.

She's getting closer, but there is no way to know exactly when she'll give birth.

Have your read any of the links Red Top Rescue posted for you?  The 3rd one down would be a good place to start.

You sound very excited.  Do you have any supplies in case you need them or someone who can run out at a moments notice?  If you can get to the store I recommend some Kitten Milk Replacer  (KMR) pet ag brand powder mix or another brand but not Hartz and a small 1 -2 ml needleless syringe.  sold at Walmart and pet stores.   You can mix up some of the KMR for momma cat so she gets some extra nutrients.  You may need the KMR to supplement kitten feedings but even if you don't need to do that it will not go to waste.  You can feed it to momma cat and can add it to dry and wet food when the kittens start to wean.

Did she open the sac and lick the kitten clean and chew the cord? As long as she does this she does not have to eat the placenta. You can just remove it and dispose of it after she detaches the baby.

How's she doing now?

It does look like one is a little runt. Are all three latching on and nursing well?

I freaked out when my cat started giving birth but I then just took a deep breath and let her do her thing. Lol
It was over before I knew it, now I have 3 beautiful, healthy kittens. [emoji]128522[/emoji]
