My 4 month old male is a now strictly indoor kitten who we've had since we rescued him as a stray about 3 and a half weeks ago has had normal stools since we got him up until this week. Ever since we took him to get his last set of shots adding his Rabies as well he's been experiencing green stools.

It's not the type of green that's bright and alarming and or obvious, from a far the stool looks brown but taking a closer look they have a more greenish tint and the stool itself holds its shape when I clean out the box. My mom thinks I'm overreacting and said he's fine even if he eventually starts pooping yellow (knock on wood) which freaked me out even more because that's simply not true. Anyway we feed him Blue Buffalo kitten dry and then we mix in his Blue Buffalo kitten wet. We used to feed him just dry but I've convinced my mom to feed wet and dry (an accomplishment I guess you could say). He gobbles that stuff up and is just as active and affectionate and drinks plenty of water (I do make sure to get the wet food juice in the can and add more water into his food, heard that really helps with flushing out his kidneys without force feeding water or something). Nobody seems bothered by this except me who cleans it up and knows what's changed. Could his stools be cause by the vaccines?

He started having the problem the night of the vet visit when he took his daily litter poop stop and it hasn't stopped. His bowel movements haven't gotten more or less frequent, he takes his stop once a day when I say it's loose I mean it's looser than his previous ones that I considered normal. Someone please tell me I'm overreacting so I can calm down. We're actually taking him to the vet one last time in 3 weeks to have his very last Leukemia shot and then he's truly done until next year. It surprises me how often 15 yr old me talks about cat poop!

OK, since at appears you are concerned, and want to learn all about cat poop, here you go:  http://www.felineconstipation.org/whatgoeswrong.html

Even though your little one doesn't sound constipated, the above does address greenish stools, and so that's why I attached it.  Plus it had some great information in it.  It does appear greenish and yellowish stools are indicative of something going on, so it's good to be concerned.  Definitely bring it up at his follow-up visit, and perhaps even call now and inquire it they think they should see him earlier (or have your mom call after showing her this article.

That you so much! I'll make sure to call his vet and ask
