how to encourage drinking?

My cat Simon has a cold. (His little buddy Max had it a few days ago but got over it quickly.) He is lethargic and is not eating or drinking.

I will be calling the vet in the morning, but is there anything I can do to encourage him to drink some water? Thanks!

You can try forcing him with a couple of a dropperfull of water every so often . But if it is really bad , maybe you need to go to the emergency vet .He may need a I V to get hidrated again .

If you have any baby food in the house chicken, turkey or ham- make a watery broth and see if the cat will take that. But not eating or drinking can become a grave concern quite quickly and a vet visit is imperative.

Thanks for the advice. I watered down some wet cat food and he ate that. I'll give him some more shortly. I will be calling the vet first thing in the morning and take him in.
