I have tried sharing my food with my fuzzy family member. I have offered her the most succulent parts of my chicken, steak, fish and even shrimp. She turns her nose up at all of it. One thing she practically crawls over me for though is my steamed veggies. In fact, I used broccoli to help tame her when she was a feral kitten.

With that in mind, I am wondering if anyone else out there has a cat that is cuckoo for vegetables as much as my kitty. I also want to know which veggies are okay to give her and which to avoid. I will only be giving them as treats and they will never be a substitute for her actual food. So far, her favorite appears to be broccoli, but she has nibbled on green beans and carrots.

It's so weird. I have never had a cat that turns down meat in favor of vegetables.

You need to avoid Avocados, and onions, garlic and grapes.  So that applies to giving her vegies cooked with onions and garlic too, I would think.  Otherwise, that's all I know of .  I've seen several cats eating bananas
.  Mine will play with vegies, but don't actually eat them.

Thanks! I didn't know grapes were bad for her. I will see if she likes bananas. I tried sharing some watermelon with her because I had a cat who loved watermelon once, but she didn't go for it. Sometimes I think the little monster only shows interest in my food just to get me to offer her a bit only to walk away from it as if to say, "Good hooman. I have conditioned you well." Shes more evil that way than any dog I have ever had, but I love her to bits.

My Wesley ( now over the bridge) used to LOVE lettuce. He was also a big grass eater though.

pumpkin and baked sweet potatoes are my cats favorites! Green beans are just okay.

One of my cats loves cantaloupe!

I have one cat who loves popcorn and potato chips.  I try not to feed him very much of those!
