So my eleven week old kitten has lesions around the ear and head. Pretty sure its ringworm. Does any one recommend a really good oral medication I can ask my vet about? I want something that will make it clear up quickly. A

Most of the oral medications have a certain amount of possiible negative side effects, and the safest one, I believe, is itraconazole.  You need to treat the infection externally as well by bathing the cat in a good safe antifungal shampoo  The BEST is a shampoo made up of a combination of chlorhexidine and ketoconazole, and you bathe your cat in it twice weekly -- the WHOLE cat, not just the spots.  KetoChlor is the best, available through 1-800-PETMEDS, and you will need a prescription from your vet.  You will also have to be vigilant in cleaning the cat's environment to get rid of the tiny invisible spores she has been shedding.

Here is a link to an excellent in depth article about ringworm from a vet.  This will help you understand ringworm a lot better, and you will know you have to treat the environment as well as the animal.

We also have a excellent post on here describing one person's experience with ringworm.  She gives lots of good advice and also writes with humor.  After reading these two documents, you will know all you have to know about ringworm in cats.
