Hi .. I am new to this site so just learning how it works .. Please if anyone has any advice let me know !! I have an older 13 or so feral cat that has to be sedated to got to the vet .. All has been well until this visit .. Which is a month after starting the medication for thyroid problems ..when she took the tranquilzer this time .. It affected her more quickly and more severe .. It has been 3 days now and she is sooo nauseous she hasn't eaten and can barely move on the bed .. The thyroid meds and all blood work was good .. The vet has no idea why she is so sick and will not eat .. Any ideas from anyone ?? Thanks for your time . I'm not ready to put my little girl down but it is hard seeing her this way ... Anyone else ever had this problem ??? THANK YOU !!!!

If your cat is being treated with the anti-thyroid drug METHIMAZOLE, it can have a lot of negative side effects, including nausea and vomiting.  Here is a good article about it.  Your cat may not be able to tolerate the medication.  Many are not.  It's not a good long-term solution, and I would really recommend the radioactive treatmen if you can possibly afford it.  I have had two friends who did that for their cats and the cats went on to live long happy lives.
