When it's rainy outside....

....I stay in the house and bake. Our cookies for the July 4th picnics. We are going to my sister's on Saturday and then on Sunday, we are going out on Rick's BIL's boat for a picnic for his sister's birthday. Should be fun!

Macadamia-Nut and White Chocolate Chip cookies, Snickerdoodles, Peanut Butter-Chocolate Chunkers, and Lemon Spongecake Cookies. I put them in the freezer for now. On Friday night, I'll get the Lemon Spongecakes out and frost them with a lemon frosting. Yum.

I'm coming to your house! That's a tempting array of cookies you got there!

Rainy days are for lazing around at my house.  Today was one of those.  We happened to be out late last night (saw Rush) and of course, kitties don't know time so we still were up at the crack of dawn. A rainy day means I don't have any guilt about taking a nap 

I also cook, Today I made homemade buttermilk malted blueberry waffles for breakfast. Dinner, I cooked salmon with a zucchini/summer squash gratin.  All fruits/veggies are from the CSA box I get every Friday.  I love getting creative with what's in them.

We also play online games although today so far I haven't.  My nap, was more like sleep - about 3 hours LOL

I could REALLY go for some GOOD snickerdoodles!  I bought a small package from the grocery store bakery the other day.  They weren't bad; but they weren't home made either.  

When it rains I get energized to clean.  I seriously get more housework done on a rainy day than any other.  

I love wrapping up warm on lovely rainy days and then do nothing as usual.

I don't mind rainy days at all. I usually either bake something -- cookies or bread mostly -- or I clean. Sometimes I'll grab a book and plop down on the couch, but that's not very often. There's usually something around here that I need to do.

My brother has laid claim to the PB-Chunkers. My niece said nobody touches the Snickerdoodles under penalty of death. Whenever I know she's coming home to visit, I try to have Snicks on hand for her. She loves them.

Sivyaleah, I could go for some nice buttermilk blueberry waffles.   I don't make waffles very often, so when I do, I'll double the recipe and throw the extras into the freezer. Usually when I make them, Rick wants chicken and waffles. He loves that and considers it his kind of comfort food.
