I got two kittens last month a week apart from each other. Callie is a long hair calico. She is loving and laid back and very playful. Lil bit is a little high strung. It took her forever to warm up to me. She now loves to be petted but you have to be slow about picking her up or she will run. She still wont play much unless she is wrestling with Callie.

I brought a new kitten home today. She is playful and explores everything. Callie is indifferent to her right now. She is curious and sniffs at her. She will let her near her no problem.
Lil bit well she started hissing and growling. She has been even doing this to Callie and tried to fight with her. She also hissed at me. She is ok now that they are away from each other but she is still jumpy and startles easy. She will hiss at Callie if she comes beside her from behind.

Please tell me it gets better.

You were very lucky that Callie and Lil bit took to each other so well. It simply sounds like they're not thrilled to suddenly have a new housemate. This is very common at the beginning, and is nothing to worry about.

The best course of action is to give the newbie a room of his own and do gradual introductions. It takes a little while to fully integrate cats in this way, but it's the most effective and least stressful method for all concerned. These articles explain how the process works.

I'm just laughing at 'it took a few days'..
You've been very lucky!  It can take months.

Lovely to see them.

Thank you both. They are all doing good together the only hissing that Ive seen happen is when someone gets close to Lil Bit while eating.

My thoughts that they accepted her so fast is because they are young. Lil Bit was born on 4/16 and Callie is a week older.

Being so young will definitely have helped. A little hissing is fine, just so long as it doesn't escalate. Lil Bit is just letting the others know who's boss :lol3: Some cats are just like that around food
