Yes, excellent job with them all!

Actually KMR will eventually (sooner or later) give mom the runs. Some easier than others, but in time they all seem to get runny poop.

Then it takes a few days to straighten her poop back out, which is why you really do want to watch the amt you give her.

Also I need to remember when you say 4.1 ounces, it's not 4 oz and 1 gram.............ugh.

So for each .1 gained, it's actually 1/16th of an ounce. So point 1 ounce gained is actually almost 3 grams gained.

So will I want them to be gaining how many ounces? I don't want to confuse you guys!

Very minimum is .2 to .4 ounces.   They can also gain more, more is better.  If they are not gaining at least .2 ounces you need to supplement more.  It is very easy for them to go downhill.

How is it going with mama kitty and the nine kittens and supplementing? Are they gaining weight? And how are you holding up? We've not heard from you in a couple of days!

Sorry I have been absent from the thread, yesterday was just a crazy heck of day! But I have WONDERFUL news about my babies! I have four who have reached 5.0 ounces or higher! I am one happy cat mama.
The weights from yesterday and today!

Wittle: 4.1 ounces was 3.8 yesterday. (.3 ounce weight gain which is a good start considering he was my second runt!)
Wittle #2: 4.3 ounces was 3.9 yesterday (.4 ounce gain. My third runt is growing as well!)
Stink butt: 5.3 ounces! Was 4.8 yesterday (.5 ounce gain. Hes my whiner. Hates when mama leaves)
Poopie: 5.1 ounces. Was 4.6 yesterday. (.5 ounce gain)
Light Paws: 5.0 ounces! Was 4.4 yesterday. (.6 ounce gain that he REALLY needed. He had not gaines much on Tuesday considering he was my biggest one born)
Dark Paws: 5.5 ounces!! Was 4.9 yesterday (He is defianlty my fatty haha.)
Dark Face: 4.5 ounces! Was 3.9 yesteday (.6 ounces gain! Another one who really needed it. He was falling behind on Tuesday)
and finally....
Little Gray: 3.9 ounces !!!! Was 3.4 yesterday (He had not gained on Wednesday and was worried, but he proved me wrong with his .5 ounce gain today!)

My wittles have defiantly not gained as much as I know would be perferred but because everyone had such bad gains on Tuesday-Wednesday I am so so happy with everyone!
I think one of the biggest problems was I have a heating pad in my rotate basket but it didnt click in to get one for my mama box till yesterday...I know...it was so dumb of me. I was watching them in the morning and when mama left and i was rubbing all their behinds that the sheets were defiantley NOT warm enough for my babies. I got an awesome heating pad so the left side of the box (where the babies usually drop to when mama gets up for her break) and then a big stuffed animal on the side for them to cuddle with! It has defiantly improved everyone and I wanna kick myself for not doing it sooner.
As for my rotating box, I realized the reason that stink butt would not calm down or relax was because the sheet in the rotating basket was cheaper quality! Once i got the pillow case that went with the sheet in the big box, he never whined again. Guess he just likes his expensive sheets huh? :lol3:

Little Gray is getting SO much bigger and he has upgraded in nipples in his group! He no longer goes straight for the armpit but to the midle! He fights his siblings if they get too close to him Lol. My two wittles are also showing so much improvement. I know their gains arent the best but i can just tell how much better they are doing and man are they thriving!

My mama is doing amazing, eating great and drinking fluids. I check her poop everyday and still good. I cut back on the KMR to just twice a day and half a tablespoon for each feeding (she laps it up and then i give her dry food with a little bit on top). I always want to give her more, but I tell myself that it is good enough!

I dont get much sleep anymore but everybody getting so much bigger and watching little gray and my wittles thriving makes every minute of sleep lost freaking worth it! I sleep in the closet with them so i know when mama gets up and i can wipe everyone booties (am i crazy for being excited when they pee and it's nice and clear? I hear its too yellow they are dehydrated) I had my first poops early this morning but some still have not...is that okay? Mama helps out as much as she can but she just has soo many!
Also dark paws, poopie, and 2 others started doing this thing about 2 days ago. Sometimes when I go check on them Darks Paws starts breathing/making noise thru his mouth real fast but then stop. He doesnt do it often, maybe once or twice a day and the rest of the time he breathes normally. Same goes for my others, except they usually do it when their siblings wake them up. I heard it might be them hissing, and if it is, ohmy heavens is it cute. just wanted to ask for any opinions!

Just one last little funny story! My closet is a decent size and i sleep to the left of the box. Whats funny is every night now that I go to sleep i always wake up having a nightmare that either one of kittens got out the box and into my blanket or my rolling onto them or falling behind the box, and last night I woke up to feeling something wet and freaked out thinking one of my wittle white kittens got out and somehow covered in water and then i finally woke up and realized it was my cotten balls all smushed up in water lol. About had a heart attack ! its crazy i have the dreams because there is no way they could get out the box but i guess i just love to worry!

Sorry for such a long post, I guess because I dont really have anyone else to talk to about my babies (my boyfriend helps but he isnt a big cat person. Still love him to pieces especially for letting me bring home a pregnant stray and then her having nine baby kittens!). I am SO thankful to you all because I have never taken care of kittens, no less Newborn kittens, and without you guys, I would have no idea what I am doing! And thank you for putting up with my ridiculous rambling and stories. :heart4:

This is just awesome news! Really good weight gains for nine kittens! Be proud of yourself!

How much and which ones are you supplementing?

I'm asking catwoman707 catwoman707 to check in here for an expert opinion on all of this, but it sure sounds good to me.

I know you said your work is flexible, will you be able to continue helping mama kitty and babies after this week?

Also, if they are not all going poo, you may want to stimulate each one after feedings to make sure they are pooing. If mama can't get around to all of them, she'll need your help with this too, as they can't go on their own for three weeks, and they must poo.

Don't blame you for the dreams - you are in a very intense phase of cat and kitten care!

Again, kudos to you! :)

This is such an amazing, exciting update!! This kitty family is so lucky to have such a caring and conscientious person to look out for them and give them the extra boost they need having so many for one momma cat to care for, you have done a fantastic job! You will be quite the expert when this is all done.

The weight gains are beautiful, Wittle 1 is who gained the least amt in 1 day, yet his .3 oz converts to 8.5 grams gained! So these are just great!

.4 is just about 11 1/2 grams gain, .5 is over 14 gram gain, and .6 is a 17 gram gain!! They are doing fabulously.

If you are able to keep them at a daily gain of more than .3 as Wittle gained, this is best. But I'm confident tmrw will show an ever bigger gain for him :)

Great job!

I need major help guys. I was going update later today but one of my white kittens is I am assuming dehydrated. I help out with the pee and poop and early this morning I noticed his pee is bright yellow. I thought maybe he just needs to feed more, but I just did it again and it's still bright yellow. He is feeding still but not as much as his siblings. I noticed his eyes had a clear, looked like a tear, and his meow is kind of crackled. I haven't supplemented him yet, I know I need to ASAP, but I didn't know if it was still pneumonia even tho I didn't hand feed him. Please help and tell me what exactly I need to do. All my other babies are doing excellent and I don't wanna loose this one. Thank you guys

Give clear pedialyte right away! If you have none, use water and a sprinkle of salt. Also smear honey or karo syrup on his mouth for a quick pick me up!

If/when he revives from the pedialyte, give formula. He's going to need TLC every few minutes. Give small amounts initially until you know how he's doing.

Depending on how he does, and it may just be dehydration, he may need a vet visit. When you get a chance, give us updates on all their weights.

How's the little guy doing? Is he perking up any?
We have had two close calls and then he gets a burst of strength and starts whining again. I'm using a 1ml syringe and worried I'll give him too much. Can I give him too much pedialyte? He is so dehydraded. I did the tent test and it stayed up. I don't know how I missed this. Also I've noticed that sometimes when he gets quiet he does kind of a clicking noise. When he was healthy he was my kitten that purred when he ate. I don't think he is so far gone because whenever he whines mama comes and gives him kisses and wants to bring him back to the bed. I have gotten everyone to such a good point it would kill me to loose this baby

And when he whines I mean he WHINES. He will get quiet then all of a sudden start kitten screaming. Is that good or bad? I'm still giving him pedialyte and did karo syrup which did perk him up good
