My Smidge is a small cat and she did have just one kitten her first litter,  and before I had the money to get her fixed or my male neutered she got pregnant like a week or two after she just had the one..  Now she is huge and it's not like before, I cannot feel the kittens and her belly is so tight.

I kinda knew when she got pregnant last time but now I'm not sure and haven't keep up with it - I have so many..  The first kitten Lil Bit was born March 28...  Maybe you can tell me when she should be due, I really have been so stressed with work and having 8 cats to feed has been hard and now I have kittens to contend with.   And I will do right by them all - I know I wasn't responsible by not getting her fixed or him, it's hard when you live on a budget but all my others are fixed.

Thanks,

Marti  :)

Hi Marti,. welcome to the forum!

If your cat has a tight belly, she is probably within days of giving birth. Signs to look for include discharge, a dilated vulva, rippling belly, and restlessness. Not feeling kitten movement any longer is another sign that she is very close. Do you have a nesting area set up for her?

It is difficult on a tight budget. Do you have a Humane Society nearby? They usually offer low-cost spay and neuter services at a fraction of the cost of a private vet. Perhaps you could have your male cat neutered in the meantime.

Good luck and keep us posted as to developments! :)
